There has been even more success for local Humber Junior Squash Academy stars
There has been even more success for local Humber Junior Squash Academy stars with a record 6 players winning County titles in the recent County Closed Events.
Lydia Robinson (aged 9) competing for the first time in this event won the U11's Girls Yorkshire title. She outplayed all of her opponents winning every match without dropping a game, and with a year remaining in her age group she will be looking to add even more titles in the future.
Yusef Forster (aged 12) added to his recent North East England success by winning the Boys U13 Yorkshire title. Once again Yusef played some fantastic Squash, outclassing his opponents and refusing to drop any games on his way to picking up the trophy.
Charlotte Fish (aged 13) played some excellent squash and showed real determination to win against a strong field of players in the U15 Yorkshire Girls event.
Academy players Lucy Soulby U13 Girls, Millie Soulby U15 Girls and Sam Haycock U17 Boys all won North Lincolnshire County titles. There were also a number of fine performances in both events from academy players throughout the weekend.
The strength of the Humber Junior Squash Academy continues to grow. The players will be out in force again at the end of the month as they compete for even greater honours at the British Junior Closed. With a number of highly ranked juniors from our area competing they will be hoping to perform well and have a successful tournament.
Local star James Earles will be confident at adding to his British title collection in the Under 19 Boys. Academy coach Andy Cockerill was delighted with the recent County title wins. "I would like to congratulate all the winners. This is really good for the area and to win 6 events shows the strength of the players the Academy has. Also, I would like to wish the best for the British Closed at the end of the month. It is a huge tournament and all the players competing are training hard and looking to perform well in the upcoming event".
