A number of Humber Junior Squash Academy players have represented Yorkshire during the 2013/14 season with many achieving success at the recent Inter County Finals held on 18/19 January 2014.

Zac Toes and Callum Abel represented the Under 13 boys in Guildford, Surrey with both players remaining undefeated. In the semi-final Zac secured an early lead for Yorkshire by defeating Josh Cutting 11/9, 11/7, 10/12, 11/3 before the team ran out worthy 4-1 winners.

In the final against Gloucestershire, all players produced a professional performance with Zac winning 11/6, 11/6, 11/4 against William Hogarth before his team mates rounded off a 5-0 victory and were crowned National County Champions for 2014.

Aisha Forster was part of the winning Girls U15 team who defeated Surrey 4-1 in the semi-finals before sealing a fantastic 3-2 win against rivals Sussex in the final to finish as County Champions.

Lydia Robinson captained the Girls U13 team at the National Trophy Finals in Pontefract. She held firm at number one to win her matches against Buckinghamshire and Essex without dropping a game and produced one of her best performances of the season to beat England No 4 Lucinda Cross (Durham and Cleveland) 3-1 in a hard-fought final 9/11 11/9 11/5 12/10. The Yorkshire girls won the tournament to take the trophy.

Lexie Ogram , though still only 9 years old, played in the reserve team for Yorkshire Girls U13, clocking up an impressive 2 wins out of 3, just losing out in a very exciting and close match to a much older opponent from Buckinghamshire.

Ben Robinson was part of the Yorkshire U17 boys’ team which competed in the prestigious national finals in Edgbaston, Birmingham. He recorded a 3-0 win in Yorkshire’s close defeat at the hands of Hampshire in the semi-finals, and then another win against Max Ettinger of Sussex, the county against which Yorkshire triumphed in an emphatic 5-0 win to take third place.
