The HJSA are proud to have 4 players representing the Humber area and even more so that we have an England number 1!
Lydia Robinson won the Girls Under 13 category which was a fiercely contested affair. After dropping the first set 11/8, Lydia then went on to win 3-1 (8/11, 11/8, 11/9, 11/4), over Buckinghamshire’s Katie Maliff. Fantastic performance by Lydia!
Also in the Girls Under 13 category was Lexie Ogram, at just 10 years old this was a great opportunity for her to gain experience playing at this level. Well done to Lexie!
In the Girls Under 15 category, the HJSA was represented by Aisha Forster, winning 3 out of her 5 matches, and finished 17th out of 32. Great to see Aisha improving on her current national rank of 21!
Charlotte Fish entered the Girls Under 17 category, unfortunately not feeling well before the tournament, which was very bad timing! Charlotte put up a great fight in the first round, but it proved too much for her on the day. Roll on next year!
Finally in the Boys U17 category, Yusef Forster has some tough opposition. Just missing out on finishing in the top 10 in the country, had he got a bit of the rub of the green in one of his matches, it could have been different. Yusef ended up in a very respectable 14th place out of 32.
It's great to see that the HJSA has been able to produce another set of players that are amongst the elite in the Country. It is never easy at the top, and to get there has taken immense dedication by the players and of course their parents! It also shows the quality of the coaching in the area is of a high caliber and can help produce some top squash players. Well done to everyone involved!
